Staff always helpful, good breakfast, excellent location
Main thing is internet and also lack of access to roof after 12 pm (I have sleeping difficulties and sometimes need to smoke a cigarette just to relax me). But Internet is provided free at many hostels - Dan Hostel Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Gottenberg (Slott....) etc. You should bear in mind that Norway is just so expensive (2-3 times Britain) that paying what is the equivalent of £6 an hour is really outrageous and means people have to choose between food and communication. If the YMCA means anything it means christian compassion and one way you can show that is by abolishing these charges and also adding a couple more computers!

We spent our New Year's holiday at a charming, affordable hotel. The location was perfect, close to a beautiful beach and several popular tourist destinations. We appreciated the welcoming and friendly staff and the delicious breakfasts with fresh orange juice and warm rolls. the experience was enjoyable and worth it.
Although the rooms were clean, they were quite small and lacked any modern style. We found that the sound insulation was very poor, as we could hear everything going on in the hotel.

the service was fantastic, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. the hotel's location was perfect for exploring the charming village and nearby beach. the breakfast spread was plentiful, and there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Although we appreciated the historical charm of the hotel, some aspects of cleanliness could have been better. the room was decently clean, but there were visible signs of dust and spider webs in some areas.

Good relaxed atmosphere friendly staff, hotel well located in pleasant small town. We had booked a budget room which was excellent value for money. The room may have been small but had all the necessities and the breakfast was excellent.

Been situated in Bergen and the accessibility to surrounding countryside as well as a 40 minute drive to Amsterdam.Breakfast was good. We would use it again should we travel in the area.
On arrival reception could have been better. Aircon or fan in rooms would be a big plus.

The location of the hotel was also ideal, being just a short distance from the center of town. I enjoyed exploring the beautiful village, with its peaceful atmosphere and great cycling routes.
